Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Trek and Halong Bay Cruise Tour (4 days)
The 4-day tour is customized by the Hanoi based tour operator Lotussia Travel in the northern Vietnam, taking to Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve and Halong bay. The multisport trip begins with a two-day trek to Ngoc Son and ends up with an overnight cruise in Halong bay.
The Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve is created in 2006 and opened to tourists in 2010. The reserve is a beautiful new ecotourism destination southeast of Hanoi city. It is situated between Cuc Phuong National Park and Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve contains a variety of wonderful landscapes and ecosystems and is also home to traditional villages of the Muong ethnic minority. This is a relaxing and peaceful place, where you can be surrounded by nature and rediscover a sustainable way of living.
Ha Long Bay (or Halong Bay) - a magnificent scenic spot located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, is famous for its mountains, water, clouds, caves and grottoes. Ha Long Bay is the center of a larger zone including Bai Tu Long to the northeast and Cat Ba islands to the southwest. It was recognized as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1994 and listed in the New 7 Wonders in 2012.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi – Ngoc Son Ngo Luong. Trekking. Homestay (L,D).
8.00 AM: you will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart for Hoa Binh province. After about three hour drive you get the Ngoc Son – Ngo Luong nature reserve at around 11.00. The car stops at the headquarters of the reserve where you will meet some rangers and have a brief explanation about the global nature conservation and livelihood improvement project. Then you take a short walk to a local restaurant where you enjoy some local specialties.
After lunch, you start your adventure trekking right from the restaurant, heading down in the valley to reach Mu village. You take your time to stroll around the village and have a break near by the Mu waterfalls. Then keep walking across the terraced rice fields to Sat village and settle down in a homestay there.
Day 2: Trek to Mon village. Return to Ngoc Son town by motorbike. Car transfer back to Hanoi (B,L).
The reserve has this particularity to alternate wild areas with very vivid villages. A chance for travelers here to feel different atmospheres along a walk. Today you follow another trail, heading through Khay village, forest hillside, corn and paddy fields. After about four hiking, you arrive in Mon village where you will enjoy your lunch with some other local specialties.
After lunch, you will take a motor-taxi to get back to Chien village where your vehicle will be waiting for your for the three-hour drive back to Hanoi.
Arriving back in Hanoi around late afternoon, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong bay. Boat cruise. Kayaking. Overnight on board junk (L,D).
This morning you will be met at your hotel by your Lotussia Travel driver and guide at 8.30am for the journey east (approximately 170km or four hours) to Hon Gai, the gateway to amazing Halong Bay.
Considered Vietnam''''s greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay boasts over 3,000 islands that rise out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. En route enjoy the captivating rural scenery and see fields of busy workers farming their rice fields using traditional methods of cultivation.
After boarding your boat, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch on board as you head out to the bay. Spend the afternoon cruising amongst the islets, stopping to explore grottoes and enjoy a swim in the clean, warm waters of the bay (during the summer months). You will also stop at Titop Mountain where you can ascend for a spectacular view of the bay.
In the evening relax and enjoy dinner on board as the sun sets.
Day 4: Halong bay – Hanoi (B).
After breakfast, continue cruising amongst the many spectacular islets and visit several more fascinating grottoes. Finally leave the bay and head back towards Baichay wharf, transferring back to Hanoi. Arrive at your hotel by late afternoon. Trip ends.
