Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Project
Created in 2006 and opened to tourists in 2010, the Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve is a beautiful new ecotourism destination southeast of Hanoi city. It is situated between Cuc Phuong National Park and Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve (NSNL NR) contains a variety of wonderful landscapes and ecosystems and is also home to traditional villages of the Muong ethnic minority. This is a relaxing and peaceful place, where visitors can be surrounded by nature and rediscover a sustainable way of living.
Funding and support for ecotourism in NSNL were provided through a development project of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) [“Convenio” number 06-C01-009: “Planificación y desarrollo del ecoturismo en el entorno de la reserva natural de Ngoc Son-Ngo Luong, Hoa Binh, proporcionando pequeñas infraestructuras, formación y materiales”]. The project was implemented by the Hoa Binh Forest Protection Department (FPD) and the NGO Foundation for the Social Promotion of Culture (FPSC).
Ecotourism in NSNL NR is the result of careful planning and has been designed following a Sustainable Tourism Plan (download the STP here) which was specifically created for this purpose.
